Is ethylene binding after treatment of pre-climacteric bananas to stimulate ripening reversible or permanent?
AbstractThe results of this study indicate that the binding of ethylene to its receptors after a short exposure to ethylene is reversible, while exposure for a longer time period results in irreversible binding. However, if exposure to ethylene exceeds a certain threshold time period, the ethylene binding becomes permanent.
